Hello all! Sorry it's been a while since we checked in, but we've been real busy here at grasshole central. Mike and Bobby have successfully met their challenge of opening a recording studio by spring and the place is outstanding. The website is still work in progress, but be sure to check out www.hopetownsound.com to get a sneak peak of their awesome new space!

As for the band... We have another show available for download, so have at it folks. Download or Listen to the embedded player found here.

As always, thanks to you all for helping to spread the good word of
The Pluckin Grassholes

We'll see you out there...

We are going to try to record as many shows as we can this year, and post them here for you to download Pennsylvania Bluegrass at its finest... well, at least the way WE do it, for FREE. That's right people, I said FREE. No strings attached! Go to our "downloads" page and have at it. Be sure to check back at least once a month to look for new downloads.

That is all,
CD

One Crazy Summer 09/30/2008

Well, as summer has come to an end, so has an exciting run of shows that had us playing shows nearly every weekend which is more than we could have ever asked for. We had to opportunity to play gigs with, and meet, members of Painted Blue, Mason Porter, Jatoba, Hot Day at the Zoo, Cabinet, Free Grass Union, Boris Garcia, Wineskin, Happy Dog, and more. If you haven't checked out any of the bands I just listed, please do so at first chance. They are all outstanding musicians, and even better people and we feel honored to have been able to gain the friendship of all of them. Links to their sites can all be found on our myspace homepage (http://www.myspace.com/pluckingrassholes)

With the shift of seasons, so has our momentum. We are now focusing our efforts on our first recording project and hope to emerge with something to share with you all by the turn of the new year. We are very excited to be behind the microphones and can't wait to see what we end up with. As always, we hope all is well with all of you and hope to see you out and about.

Well this weekend is our first break in a few months. Mike is out in Seattle showing his support for his honey's band and will be returning Sunday. We have a couple gigs coming up that are sure to be a blast. Next Thursday (8/7), we will be at Bobby Simone's and if it's anything like last week, it will be yet another night to remember!

We also have the Bucks County Bluegrass Festival coming up on Saturday, August 9th. We are playing the 1-2pm slot  in the afternoon, and we are proud to be a part of this outstanding festival. For advance tickets (save $5) send me an email (c-j-devine(at)hotmail.com) before 8/6 and we will make arrangements to get them to you. Pre-Fest tickets are only $10 which is less than going to see a movie these days. Instead, you'll get to see an impressive list of bands perform over 8 hours of music. Mason Porter, Cabinet, Free Grass Union are just a few of the bands we can personally vouch for; great guys and great music! Hope to see you there.

Thanks to all who came up to see us in Sterling, NY and to everone that made our experience at the Sterling Stage an outstanding one. Saturday night was a night to remember to say the least. Thanks to Jatoba, Hot Day At The Zoo, Painted Blue and others, for pickin with us on stage. It was more than we ever could have expected. Last but not least, thank you to Erik for giving us the opportunity to play for you all. He went out on a limb for us and we appreciate it!

If you missed us in Sterling, be sure to come on out this Friday, to John & Peter's in New Hope, PA and/or Saturday at Porters in Easton, PA. Also, make sure you check out our calendar on our "Shows" page often becasue we are adding shows on a weekly basis.

Hope all is well with all of you and hope to see you soon!

We appologize, but unfortunately, we will not be playing Bobby Simone's tonight due to an illness in the band. Good news is we're pretty sure it's not the bird flu; bad news is, we think it's a goiter (look it up)

Anyway, the Cigar shop in Doylestown is currently reviewing their music venue policy, so in the meantime, all shows have been put on hold, including the one we had scheduled for tomorrow night. So as it stands right now, our next show will be Friday, June 7th, at Puck Live with Wineskin. As always, thanks to our loyal fans, and be sure to visit our music page as we have added a few links to mp3's from a show we played Doylestown in April.

Thanks to all who came out to Muggs last Saturday. It was a great turnout and we had a blast. For those of you who were there, you got to see a special guest appearance by Britney Spears! I think it's quite obvious tha we are huge fans. Thanks for sitting in with us Britney!

Moving right along, we have a few shows coming up so be sure to visit our "Shows" link so you can mark 'em on your calendar. As always, hope all is well with all of you and we appreciate your continued support of the band.

With Love,
TugBoat

April Showers 04/13/2008

Thanks to all who came out to the April Showers benefit show in Doylestown last night. We hope you all had a great time, we know we did. Our next show is at Muggs, Saturday, April 26, which is also in Doylestown and we hope to see you all there. Again, we appreciate the support and we look forward to seeing you all through out the spring/summer season.

We here, at Grasshole central, are looking to boost our summer schedule to make sure we stay pretty busy this summer, so keep checking back to see when we might be playing in your hometown. The line up has changed a bit in the last few weeks with the addition of a permanent bass player. We are also exploring the option of a full time mandolin player which should prove to fill things out a bit.

Bare with us as we grow into the website and look out for a few mp3's that should be posted in the music section within the next week or so.
